Dear Dharma friends,

I have the privilege and honour to follow His Holiness Gyalwa Karmapa and Shamarpa's guidance, and became a Buddhist monk in Bodhgaya in 2007. Subsequently I was given the task to set up and run the Bodhipath Buddhist center in Taichung in 2008, the aim of the center is to spread Buddha dharma teaching, learning the bodhisattva way by adopting the Bodhisattva's attitude, develop wisdom and practice to experience a clear and unobstructed nature of mind.

I have also started producing TV programs about Dharma teaching on Taiwan Dharma TV station since 2012, the topics cover teaching of Karma Kagyu lineage, Bodhicitta and other Dharma knowledge.


In 2013 I was assigned to be responsible for Dharma practice and teaching by Karmapa and Shamarpa in our new monastery in Hualian, Taiwan; from 2014 regular puja and events will be organised in both monasteries in Hualian and Taichung, including regular Nyongye practice (thousand arm chenrezig fasting program) White Tara Retreat as well as other retreat programs in the pipeline.


With pleasure I am producing these DVDs for distribution and sharing, I would appreciate any comment or feedback you might have for future improvement. In this trouble time we are most fortunate this auspicious teaching come to light, may the precious teachings radiate and flourish, may we bring forth our full effort together to work for a better future.

噶瑪巴開示認清敵人



以愛與慈悲為力量來調伏自心就是菩薩學處。一位菩薩需要能夠妥善的控制自心以平息一切外在的干擾。我們常以為有外在的敵人,但這並非事實。這些敵人是我們自心製造出來的幻覺。除去這個敵人最好的方法是除去憤怒,憤怒才是我們真正的敵人。一旦內在這個敵人(憤怒)被拔除之後,外在的敵人也就隨之消失。要消除這個對於敵人「錯誤的認識」最好的方式,就是培養對所有眾生的愛與慈悲。菩薩是有能力透過掌握自心去化敵為友的。

Taming your own mind stream with the forces of loving-kindness and compassion is the practice of a bodhisattva. A bodhisattva needs to control his/her own mind to pacify all outer disturbances. We always believe we have outer enemies but this is not true. These enemies are illusions produced by one’s own mind. The best way to obliterate this enemy is to obliterate anger, which is our real enemy. Once the inner enemy of anger is removed, the outer enemies disappear. The best way to remove the wrong notion of enemies is to develop love and compassion towards all beings. Bodhisattvas have the ability through mind control of turning enemies into friends.

39.《最強悍的東西》 "The Most Stubborn"

有一次,我去看一位肝癌末期的老先生,他已七十多歲了,腹部水腫,下肢也腫脹,醫生說他最多剩一、二個月的壽命。但我看到他時,他睜大的雙眼,從床上奮力而起,他展現沒把病放在眼裡的樣子,求生的情感與動作十分具有張力。當下,我發現我人心內的執著(即第七識)才是生命中最不服老、最強悍的東西,也最令人擔憂。



Once, I went to see an old man who was diagnosized with terminal liver cancer. He was already over seventy-year-old; his abdominal and lower limbs were swollen too. The doctor said that he had only one to two month left to live. But when I saw him, he opened his eyes widely and struggled out of his bed. He appeared to look down on the effect of the disease on him. His will to survive and behavior are moving. At that moment, I found that people's attachment (i.e., the Seventh Consciousness) is the most dissatisfied with the old age, the most stubborn, and most cause for concern.

38.《全國供僧》


世界各地與台灣地區近來常受氣候變化所苦,各地經常傳出災情。人心惶惶,大家都能感受到「四大不調」「國土危脆」的現象。所幸的是這個社會仍有一些正面的力量在維繫著整體的和平結構。例如今年台中與彰化二場全國供僧大會,除了國家元首親臨,參加的義工上萬人,應供的僧眾亦超過五千人,整個氛圍十分祥和。這個祥和的力量再化為十方,影響更多的人。佛法的小乘律儀以不作惡即是善,大乘教法的善更有積極推廣改善社會美好的動能。我們盡力去做吧!



Recently, many places around the world and Taiwan suffer from the effects of climate change, we often hear about news of many disasters. Panic prevails everywhere; we all can feel the unstable phenomena. Fortunately, there are still positive forces maintaining the overall structure of peace in our society. For example, Taichung City and Changhua City hosted two national alms offering ceremonies this year, in addition to our President's attendance, over ten thousand volunteers participated to offer alms to more than five thousand sangha members. The atmosphere was very harmonious and serene. I wish the power of harmony may multiply to affect more people. In the Theravada Buddhism tradition, one's ethical discipline is not engaging in evil deeds. In Mahayana teachings, our ethical discipline is to actively promote positive changes in order to improve our society. Let try our best to do it!

37.《障礙是鍛鍊我智慧與處事能力的課程》

世親菩薩俱舍論云:「心心所必俱,諸行相或得。」大意是一切法的生起與消滅的過程必須依色、心、心所,也必與生、住、異、滅的無常同時進行。


這讓人更明白一切法無我和一切相無常的本質。所以:遇到了如意的事,不必喜悅太久,遇到了不如意的事,也不必憂慮太久。遇到了障礙,不妨給自己一個座右銘:「障礙,是鍛鍊我智慧與處事能力的課程。」因為:一切法無我故,隨緣隨份!一切法無常故,惜福惜緣!


每當我看見噶瑪巴在群眾中忙碌卻能保持悠然微笑,他或許即是以無常、無我、苦、空的真理運用自若以外,更將其轉化成常、樂、我、淨的心態吧!

34.《蠻牛的內心深處》

日前看了二則新聞畫面,一是:一隻海豚不堪長期被訓練,而選擇了直接衝出水池自裁。另一是:一隻鬥牛場中的鬥牛,不隨鬥牛士的紅布起舞,而直接躍上觀眾席,瘋狂的突擊觀眾,群眾四竄,有點被牛撞上了空中。前面那隻溫馴的海豚選擇自殺,的確令人心痛。後面那隻狂牛在死亡前的一躍除了也讓人心痛以外,似乎更夾雜著一些莫名的興奮與啟示:佛教常用動物來喻人,例如:凡夫在煩惱生起時,不是被煩惱牽著鼻子走,便是逃避著煩惱。一隻狗被人用竹竿鞭打時,狗只是咬著竹子不放。竹子是煩惱的現行,煩惱的緣起是什麼?無人過問,也無智慧過問,眾生在煩惱大海中沉浮與生滅,很可悲,是不是?看不見緣起時的幻化與無生,看不到當時的因與真相。有時候不如那隻狂牛,狂牛與海豚透過了媒體傳達了牠們的「身教」,不知道有多少生命因此而醒悟?
