HH 17th Karmapa's Teachings on Samantabhadra , King of Aspiration Prayers. The Aspiration for Noble Excellent Conduct-Prostration
禮敬諸佛須以身語意同時,能淨除我執。何以故? 因為自我之意念極微細,必須以清淨之意念才能覺察。 而禮敬諸佛必須透過禪修,禪定方能意念清淨,見微細心念。 依此能見諸佛,淨土與實相,依此境界能得無量福德資糧。因為, 此福德實相便是諸佛所顯現之功德,以此功德方能利樂眾生。
以上所述即身與意之禮敬功德。實以意為前導。
Prostration in Body, Speech and Mind, can remove Self-clinging. Self Clinging is very delicate and fine thoughts , it can only be noticed with pure mind. Through meditation for prostration , mind can be purified and consequently those delicate and fine thoughts can be observed. Through it, can be connected to Buddhas , Pureland and Truth, and immeasurable merits can also be accumulated. The ultimate truth of merits is the manifestation of Buddhas which can benefit sentient beings.
The abovementioned is the merits of Prostration in Body and Mind, and Mind is the driver .
